Seeking Wisdom
Feast of Trumpets-Fall Feast-(the time of final harvest)
Ancestors who planted roots in Your special kingdom,
The vine you uprooted from Egypt, those fallen from your ways,
Called yearly by shofar trumpet into the Temple of the Lord.
A new day, a new moon, it is a day of remembrance.
Your voice each seeks to hear, voices raised in worship,
Repenting for past worship of false gods,
To have hearts open; being accountable to the Lord.
Fires on the altar consume all burnt offerings,
Priests, worshippers leave none for eating,
Totally consumed by God, as He wishes hearts to be;
Surrendering all to God, a holy, living sacrifice.
Goat offerings too for past offenses are given,
Forgiveness, a new cleanness, asking for God’s mercy.
A way of atonement, a way to cover one’s sins-
A substitute, reminding us of what Christ did for us.
Consecrating themselves to future faith, trust, obedience,
Surrendering one’s heart, one’s will, to God’s love,
God desired this to be a feast of joy-
A new day of holiness, a new relationship.
“Lord, it is good to be here.”
