Don't FORGET What You are Taught!
“God,” I ask, “what ever can I pray or say that I haven’t said before?”
His answer, “whatever can you read that you haven’t read before in the Bible? Yet you find time and time again a Word with an entire new meaning that you read before. For you are in a new day and never have been before where you are today. New life, new journey—each day presents its own questions, and need for answers. Nothing new can be written for it has all been written before, but daily you need to hear again what has been heard before---I love you, I am with you, do not stop asking, do not stop seeking and never think you are a bother to Me. You are not a pest, so keep coming and keep knocking on My door. Glad you asked.”
"Ya know God, You are alright!"
"Of course I AM, I AM God." (I do believe we are both smiling now.)
Now, you might think, what kind of way is that to talk to God.
Sometimes we can have a deep misunderstanding about prayer, or talking to God. Some folks think we should not bother Him with tiny needs. Some think, prayer or talking to Him should be a formal prayer, and said with great reverence, on your knees maybe, in a church, or corner at home—well all that is good—but we have a God who loves to just walk and talk with us. Just as He did with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. He enjoys our company, He loves to see us come and seek, to ask, to search—He loves to be one Spirit with us.
Think of how special it is when you are with someone you love dearly. A child, a spouse, a sister or brother, mother or father, or a friend. Think how much you enjoy just being with them and sharing some fun time with them, or sharing a meal with them. Nothing stressing you or them out, and you are just there in each others presence, a big smile on your face, holding their hand maybe—BUT, it is a very special time—a moment of grace.
Well, that is what God loves best too. Just come to spend some special alone time with Him, to just be there and share what is good, or sad, or moody, or perhaps nothing but that special smile and look you have when you are at peace and happy. Just be there!
Don’t know how to pray or talk with God—say ‘what’s up, Lord?—Good to hear from You, it is good to be here –in Your Presence.’ And my dear beloved, God will be just as estatic to see you too! Remember too-- “IN HIS PRESENCE” is everywhere, and He NEVER cares how you choose to talk or pray to Him.
