I was brought back to the Catholic Church four years ago.
I heard God's call and I accepted it.
It's a struggle every day. I'm Native American, lived on our reservation all my life, and I am a single parent to my nephew, who knows me as mom.
I found my solace in being Catholic, because being Catholic is more than belonging to a group.
Being Catholic is learning to love, even those who persecute us. Being Catholic is to remain humble in our struggles and finding joy in sacrificing. Being Catholic is trusting God to take away everything of this world that consumes us and replacing it with gifts that benefit others before ourselves. Being Catholic is knowing how precious the Sacraments are, because they are all gifts from our Father, and they lead us to Him. Being Catholic is serving others. Being Catholic means accepting all trials as a way to gain wisdom from God, because only true wisdom can come from Him. I love being Catholic, and when I have been called names such as 'the one who's all about God' and 'Jesus freak,' it has only made me love my faith more, because I love God that much.
