Everyone wonders from time to time if a ghost may be in their presence. Some of us hope to catch a glimpse of one of our loved ones that have passed on. We want to know that they are okay. But as Catholics, should we believe in ghosts on earth? We hear of real life ghost interactions all the time on television and in books, but are they real? And if they are real, are they good?

Timeless is a new show on NBC, and the second season is expected to start in January. If you are trying to play catch-up, here is a short review of the first few episodes. Saint Margaret, Virgin and Martyr also known as St. Margaret of Antioch lost her mother while she was still an infant. Her father, a pagan priest, had her placed in the care of a nurse in the country. This nurse was a Christian woman and made it her duty to baptize Margaret and give her a Christian education.

St. Elizabeth was the wife of Zachariah and mother of John the Baptist. Mary and Elizabeth were cousins so naturally Jesus and John the Baptist would be cousins.

Often when we think of Amish life we think of horses, buggies, jam, soap, one room school houses, wood stoves, and the lack of electricity. Some of us wish we could run away from our hectic lives for a day or so and live the simple life, and some of us say, “no way, I need my car and electricity.”

At first glance you may think the title of this book is inappropriate for a book on saints but there is no better word to describe these courageous women who turned their lives from ordinary to extraordinary.

Saint Joseph, foster father of Jesus Christ, took on the responsibility of raising Jesus as God instructed. Joseph gave up his home in order to protect his family and was able to make a new home wherever they went.
