Saint Titus Brandsma was a Carmelite priest who used journalism to oppose the Nazis. This led to his imprisonment at Auschwitz. He ministered to the other prisoners, encouraging them and leading them in prayer for their captors. He was martyred by lethal injection on July 26th, 1942. He is known as the "gentle martyr" and his feast day is July 27th.
